RAILEAN Distillery The RAILEAN Eagle Point Distillery is the first and the only distillery located in the Houston/Galveston vicinity.
It is actually tucked away along the shores of Galveston Bay in a little coastal town called San Leon. The area was once a stronghold for the swashbuckling pirate Jean Lafitte, today San Leon is a "small drinking community with a large fishing problem". The area is also home to a thriving population of wild parrots called Monk Parakeets, or Quakers which, naturally became the mascot of RAILEAN.
You will meet Kelly Railean the Founder and Master Distiller or Kenny Bradshaw VP Operations and Master Distiller. They will explain how they got into the distilling business and how to make RAILEAN Rum, Agave Spirits, Vodka & Whiskey.
Included is a discussion on fermentation, distillation theory and operation of the still, dark versus white rum, spirits distilled from agave (including a discussion on Tequila), the rum, whiskey & vodka making process, barrel aging and bottling. Be warned this is a working distillery and the factory portion of the tour is not air conditioned. We offer a sampling of our products at the end of the tour.
If you do not wish to take a tour, you may also come out to the Railean Buccaneer Bar & gift shop to purchase bottles of Railean spirits and merchandise, and/or enjoy a Railean cocktail. You must be 21 years or older with valid ID. Sorry, we are not allowed to sell our spirits on Sundays, but we are often available during the week for bottle sales, just call first to make sure someone is there to assist you. Open to the public Tuesday through Friday 3-9, and Saturday 12-9. Group Tours & Private Events, Parties, Happy Hours, Etc..
Please contact Kelly Railean at 713-545-2742 to book group tours and private events.
